The Museum of Gold

The museum in the vicinity of Yekaterinburg in the city of Berezovsky is dedicated to the history of gold mining in the Urals. The discovery of gold deposits in that place in 1745 changed the Russian economy, making the country one of the leaders in gold mining. Russia soon became one of the world leaders in gold mining and gold reserves, because gold was found in Berezovsky 150 years earlier than in the Klondike described by Jack London.
The museum, which has recently undergone a major renovation, has 5 halls that divide the history of gold mining into thematic sections.

Ural Mars

Bogdanovichi clay quarry is called Ural Mars. The clay quarry is located near Yekaterinburg and is so named because its appearance resembles the red planet. The quarry is designed for the extraction of fire-resistant clays, which at this point overlook the top of the earth. Therefore, the place surprises tourists with a frozen landscape and a variety of colors: from blue to bright red.
The area of the quarry is about 75 square kilometers, which makes it the largest reserve in the Middle Urals.

Museum complex of Civil and military equipment

The Museum of the "Military Glory of the Urals" in the city of Verkhnyaya Pyshma is one of the largest museums of military and civil equipment in Russia.
The museum's collection includes more than 15,000 exhibits, from badges and medals to huge missile systems. The first samples of military equipment were exhibited in 2005 in a park dedicated to the feat of factory workers who participated in the Great Patriotic War. Today, the museum complex includes a theater and even a planetarium.

Shartashsky Forest Park

The Shartashsky Forest Park is a green area located in the eastern part of the city of Yekaterinburg, on the shores of Lake Bolshoy Shartash.  
The iconic landmark of this place are the Shartash stone tents, rocks made of flat boulders stacked on top of each other. This is not only a monumental natural monument, but also a place associated with the history of the city: at the beginning of the twentieth century, underground meetings of workers and Bolsheviks were held here.
The shores of the lake within the park are equipped with beaches, boat stations, recreation centers, cafes and restaurants, and walking paths.

The Temple on the Blood

One of the most significant and sad events in Russian history is the murder of the imperial family. This tragedy took place right here, in Yekaterinburg. Once upon a time, the house of engineer N.N.Ipatiev was located on the site of the Church on the Blood. In 1918, Nicholas II, his wife and children were detained here for 78 days, and on July 17, 1918, the royal family and 4 servants were shot by the Bolsheviks in the basement of the house.
In the 90s, a memorial cross was erected here, and in 2003, the Church on Blood opened its doors to the parishioners.
